Salvation: The wages of Sin is Death.

Gospel of John
3:16 For GOD (YAHWEH) so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. 3:17 For GOD (YAHWEH) sent not HIS SON into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten SON (JESUS (YESHUA)) of GOD (YAHWEH). 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds maybe made manifest, that they are wrought in GOD (YAHWEH) .

Letter to the Romans (bold text is the Roman's Road in context of the surrounding verses.)

3:21 But now the righteousness of GOD without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 3:22 Even therighteousness of GOD which is by faith of JESUS CHRIST unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 3:24 Being justified freely by HIS grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in hisblood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that arepast, through the forbearance of God; 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier ofhim which believeth in Jesus.

6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our LORD.

5:8 But GOD commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us.

10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The Acts of the Apostles

2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, andsaid unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I. So, if you feel the calling of GOD on your heart and you believe that Jesus died on the Cross for your sins then pray to GOD the FATHER and repent, asking for HIS forgiveness.

II. Get a Bible and read it. Suggest you read the New Testament (NT) first. In the NT I suggest starting with the letters of John (1st, 2nd, 3rd John), and the Gospel of John, then the Acts of the Apostles. Other than that, just read. Let the SPIRIT lead you. Ideas: read a chapter of Proverbs every day, there is one chapter for every day of the month. Read a little bit of Psalms every day.

III. Find a Church. Again, let the SPIRIT lead you. But if you find a church that doesn't believe in the WORD, the whole WORD, and nothing but the WORD, then keep looking. You can't pick and choose what parts of the Bible you are going to believe and follow. Either it is wholy GOD's WORD or it is all crap.

Why...

Obadiah is simply known as a man who has a vision that is recorded in the Old Testament. His name simply means, "servant of the LORD." He begins his story with, "Thus says the LORD God...." He further says, "For the LORD has spoken." Obadiah's message is simply that GOD is sovereign and just and HIS people's faith should be strengthened because it is GOD's righteous purpose that determines history and not the evil will of men." New Geneva Study Bible. Obadiah appeals to me on a few levels. He only proclaims what the LORD says where today we seem more concerned with how one person or another interprets what God says. Also many people seem to believe and express what a friend and I called, "Popular Theology." We defined popular theology as something that many people seem to believe that actually has no Biblical basis. Of course "Theology" is another one of those words that people shy away from, like the word "Doctrine." Where theology is, "the study of religious faith, practice, and experience; especially : the study of God and of God's relation to the world." And doctine is, "something that is taught b: a principle or position or the body of principles in a branch of knowledge or system of belief." Simply I say, "Thus says the LORD," and stand with both feet on the Word of GOD."

Obadiah's Vision

Obadiah 15f "For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return uponthine own head. 16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been." What does this say to you?
